My brother tells me that I have weird tastes in food. My husband tells me that that is not true; that my brother is just jealous that I have more profound taste buds. I knew I married that man for a reason. My sister-in-law agrees with my husband and tells me that her husband is just a bit jealous because the food he can enjoy is limited. Well, dear bother, I am not the one who is picky, am I? Up to now, he’s still one of the pickiest eaters I know. It’s just that Mom’s responsibility before has transferred to my sister-in-law.
My brother doesn’t eat saucy food- stews are not his type. He also doesn’t like curry or glazed meat. He east soup as long as it’s a familiar one to him.
“It must really be love,” I told Jenny, my sister-in-law, one time. She simply laughs and tells me it’s not that difficult. All she needs to do is to adjust a few of the recipes she know to cater to what my brother wants.
Well, he has a problem even with desserts. He doesn’t like coconut and he is not too fond of anything with coffee on it. He’s missing half of his food life for that.
However, he loves this chocolate macaroon pie, which is a combination of coconut and chocolate. Jenny made this for us once time when we gathered in their house for a weekend catching up. Everyone loved it including my brother.
I can’t blame him. This recipe will make everyone love it starting on the first bite.
