We all know how important are all the senses when it comes to cooking. Just one of this unused is going to cause trouble in the kitchen unless you have an alternative. When I was a kid, I remember watching a dubbed cartoon about this little boy who was so good in cooking he was made the youngest super chef in all of China. The story was about China’s fascination about food that super chefs are treated as royalty. I loved that show because I learned a lot of cooking philosophies.
There was this one episode wherein the young chef joined a contest. One of his adversaries did something to him that caused him to lose his sense of smell. We all know how important our sense of smell is when it comes to cooking, so he had a bit of a problem.
Another competitor helped him. He found a needle stuck behind the ear of the young chef, causing him to lose his sense of smell. After that, it was back and he was able to finish his dish.
I talked about the sense of smell because of this recipe that I will share with you. This brown sugar chicken has that aroma that will fill the house with a really enticing smell. The best thing about this is that it tastes as good as it smells- even better.
You don’t believe me? All you need to do is try.

Quick Tip: You can substitute plump skinless boneless breasts for the recipe’s stated chicken pieces (which would be with both skin and bone) and cut the cooking time down to 4 hours at Low.
