My family is not a fan of green beans. We do eat green beans because they’re healthy and they give that added crunch to any recipe. However, we are not as fond of them as we are of asparagus. It has something to do with the texture of the green beans. When you eat and chew them, they have this certain roughness on the tongue; much like nuts. But nuts have that tough crunch that green beans do not have. Nuts don’t feel like cotton in the mouth while green beans when chewed have that quality.
However, just like what I always say- when you find a recipe that you love, regardless of whether you don’t like an ingredient or not; you will love it. That’s what happened to my family because of this recipe. We surely didn’t see it coming.
When I first tried this green beans in cheesy bacon sauce, I have a feeling that it will be tolerable. Why; because of cheese and bacon. Everyone loves cheese and bacon- tell me I am wrong.
The house was filled with that aroma you will never forget for a while. We all thought it smelled really good- good enough to eat. We were all waiting for it to get done so we could finally taste it and give a verdict.
Verdict: PERFECT.
