How do you show someone that you miss him or her? Do you shower them with attention once they’re finally back in your vision? Do you give them flowers as a gesture of welcome? Do you give them the warmest hugs until they can no longer breathe? Or do you make their favorite food and spoil them? Since I am not an overly affectionate person, I tend to go with the last one. Whether it’s my husband, a relative, or a friend, I always find myself holding back from the affection. Cooking for them is one of the ways wherein I can show my care for them.
My husband doesn’t mind though- he’s also not the type to be overly affectionate. We’re both only affectionate towards our sons; and we feel like sometimes they didn’t want us too. Well, I get them- we always shower them with kisses all the time (Haha).
There was this time when my husband came home from a week-long working vacation. I truly missed him, but instead of showering him with attention; I simply fed him. But of course he knew, that’s why he still looked grateful.
I served him his favorite tiramisu that night because I knew he would appreciate that so much. He did, and he almost finished the entire thing in one sitting! I had to remind him that there’s still tomorrow and that’s when he only stopped.
I don’t know where he puts all of these food actually. His metabolism is amazing. Anyway, you can grab a copy of this tiramisu recipe on the next page.
