My Mother Made This Every Sunday. So Tasty!
I enjoy making pot roast at home for two reasons: one, because it’s easy to prepare; and two, because I can control the amount of seasonings on it. Pot roasts are incredibly flexible. Depending on your company for supper, you can flavor it the way you want to. At home, since my kids cannot take spicy food yet, I lessen the amount of the spicy seasonings. If I am making it solely for my husband, I make sure I put a lot of chili pepper in there because he loves it insanely spicy.
When I was a kid, my Mom usually asked us what we liked to include in our pot roast. I would eat anything my Mom made because her pot roast was the best. My brother usually asked for potatoes though; that’s the only type of vegetables he ate.
In my family now, we usually eat our pot roast with mashed potato and gravy. I serve it with a side dish of blanched vegetables or a side dish of salad. My boys preferred the vegetables while my husband preferred the salad.
This pot roast is a literal melting pot of all amazing flavors. So if I were you, I will make this for my family. I wouldn’t want them to miss such an amazing version of everyone’s favorite classic.
