I think by now, everyone knows what I am obsessed about. But if you have forgotten, let me refresh your memory- I am obsessed with coffee (well, among other things). Coffee has been my life since I was a kid. I fell in love with it because of its taste. Granted, I filled my coffee with sugar and a lot of milk, but I still loved its strong taste that permeates through all the added ingredients. It’s not surprising that I have an appreciation with anything bitter, at least when it comes to sweet treats.
My Mom once told me that she quite admired my tolerance for bitter things. I love eating bitter gourd and not everyone can boast about that. And of course, gone are the sugar and the milk- I love drinking my coffee black most of the time.
So why am I talking about coffee? Well, this recipe here from Always Order Dessert speaks of all things sweet and bitter. Yes, it’s sweet enough to be a dessert, but it also has that bittersweet quality that you might find a bit too strong.
If you are a coffee lover like me, desserts like this can actually become your instant favorite. This is not the first time I made this simply because I fell in love with it. My husband loves this too, but the kids never did see the appeal of this dark mocha molasses cake.
Still, I urge for you to try this cake. I am sharing a copy of this recipe on the next page for your reference.
