My husband and I had dinner with friends at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant a few nights ago. The place was casual, homey, as if you were in your own home. Even their food kind of reminds you of home. I love the atmosphere in these kind of places because it makes you feel comfortable. It’s the perfect place for catching up with friends without thinking about the time. Time goes by so fast when you’re enjoying what’s happening.
One of the things on the menu that caught my eye was the beef chili. They had many chili recipes on the menu, but this is what instantly captured my attention. My husband warned me that it was going to be really hot, but I didn’t care.
Well, it was fiery hot, but I was able to enjoy dipping my tortilla chips in it. There’s just this flavor that made me fall in love with it. I wanted to lick the bowl clean when I was done eating!
I decided to recreate it at home a few days after just to try my hand on it. I am not a stranger to chili, but this one has a new flavor to it. I got this chili recipe from Valerie’s Kitchen and I’m sure you’re going to love this version. If you want a copy of this, you can grab one on the next page.

Quick Tip: Since canned beans are already cooked, the texture can become mushy if they hang out for too long in the slow cooker, so it’s always advised to add them towards the end of the initial cooking time.
