What are your favorite combination when it comes to dessert? I am sure that there are combination of flavors that you just can’t resist. In my case, I could never resist a combination of apples and cinnamon. Apples for me are ordinary; they’re not my favorite fruits. However, when you combine them with cinnamon, I become an instant fanatic. Apple pies, apple cobblers, apple cakes- as long as there’s cinnamon in there, I am so done. My husband feels the same. While he’s not a huge fan of apples, he’s a huge fan of cinnamon and apples.
One of our neighbors (let’s just call her Martha) loves baking for everyone. Almost every two weeks, we receive something from her, whether it’s a pie or a cake. She said she loves to bake, but she doesn’t love to eat; hence the gifts.
Last time, she brought over a loaf of bread that smelled so divine. I instantly knew that it was apple and cinnamon because only that combination makes a smell this lethal in a good way. The loaf was finished within the day.
My family ate the load for our afternoon tea and it didn’t see the light of the day. I had to make one a couple of days later because we couldn’t have enough. It’s a simple bread with the most tempting taste.
