I attend a lot of dinners with my husband; and most of the time, it’s dinner with our own sets of friends. Sometimes, the dinner is formal so the food seems a little too formal for me too. During these times, I don’t get to eat a lot because I am not too fond with eating fancy. I prefer eating comfortably and heartily, which I only get if it’s homemade food. Speaking of homemade food, I love it whenever the dinner is a casual one.
Casual dinners mean it’s in someone else’s home; so it means home cooked meal and hearty conversations. These moments make me happy because we can just relax and be ourselves. We don’t even have to dress up just for the dinner.
During one dinner we have, I fell in love with the chowder that was served. It was fish chowder, which shouldn’t have been that special, but it was. In fact, I was taken aback by the taste that I was a bit speechless at first.
The flavors of the fish taste so good with the other flavors. The texture also has a lot to do with why I enjoyed it. Since it’s cooked in a slow cooker, the flavors were concentrated and it tasted so good!
