Bring Out The Plank For This Salmon Recipe!

This cedar plank salmon recipe is a simple dish. What makes it simple is that it’s cooked in a slow cooker. You can prepare it in minutes and just allow it to cook by its own. You don’t have to worry because the slow cooker is as independent as you can be. You can eat this with a side dish of vegetables, if you want. My family usually loves eating this with rice because it’s flavorful. But you can also eat this without anything as it has that superior taste.

See what our friends from Caramel Potatoes have to say about this recipe:

It’s up to you on how you like to enjoy this amazing crock pot recipe. You can enjoy this any time, anywhere because it’s easy to prepare and easy to cook.

Ingredients

1 cedar plank

1 1/2 pound salmon fillet
1/2 teaspoon Morton salt
1/4 teaspoon McCormick freshly ground black pepper
1- 2 lemons, sliced
1 tablespoon McCormick grainy mustard
2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s maple syrup
1 tablespoon Kerrygold butter
1 teaspoon finely minced fresh parsley

Instructions

Prepare a cedar plank to fit your crock pot (see quick note).

Place plank inside slow cooker.  Season salmon with salt and pepper on both sides and place on top of the cedar plank. Scatter lemon slices on top of salmon.  Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours.

Discard lemons.  {Note:  Slow-cooked salmon will always have some white protein on surface.}

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter , mustard, and maple syrup.  Pour over salmon. Garnish with parsley.

Quick Tip: Cut a Cedar Plank to fit your crock pot. After you’ve got it cut to fit, use tongs to hold the plank and char it for a couple minutes on both sides over an open flame -you’re looking for that toasty smell and nutty brown color. But you could skip the cedar plank and still make this recipe.
