Aunt Gemma’s Flawless Pumpkin Pecan Skillet Cake With Butterscotch Glaze

I am fond of calling everyone I know who’s the same age as my Mom, Aunt. I feel like it’s a form of respect and at the same time familiarity. My Mom has a best friend named Gemma, and when I was a kid, she insisted on us calling her Aunt. It stuck, so up to know we’re still calling her Aunt. She doesn’t have a problem with it though, and she still finds it endearing.

During my family’s last visit to my parents’ house, my kids finally met Aunt Gemma. She is this nice petite lady who lives next door to my parents. Her daughter is one of my friends, but we don’t get to talk much right now because she lives in the other side of the world with her family.

Aunt Gemma invited me and my family for ab afternoon tea at her house. Since it has been so long, my husband and I, along with our kids, said yes to her invitation. We had a bit of a nice talk about families and careers while enjoying her beautiful cake.

Speaking of beautiful cake, it’s this luscious pumpkin pecan cake which she cooked in a skillet. It has the most amazing butterscotch glaze that tastes so smooth in your mouth. My family instantly got addicted to it!
