What is your comfort food at home? My family has lots of comfort food including pies, chocolate cake, soup, and pasta dishes. Whenever these comfort food are prepared at the table, there will always be that sighs of contentment around the table. I can see the blissful look in my family’s faces as they enjoy the homey food being served to them. It doesn’t matter what season it is; as long as my family craves for a dish, I always try my best to make it for them.
Just recently, my husband was on a turkey craving. He came home from a dinner meeting and told me they ate this succulent roast turkey that has the most amazing gravy. He started craving for it and asked if I could make a turkey dish that weekend.
How could I say no? I also love turkey and my kids are crazy about it as well. So during Friday that week, we had a turkey dish for dinner.
It was turkey shepherd’s pie. And it was hitting two birds with one stone because my family loves potatoes as well. This turkey shepherd’s pie gave us the best of both worlds.
We really enjoyed our dinner that night. The taste of turkey along with the mashed potatoes was really great. The flavors just compliment each other so well no one was able to complain.
