My family and I love creamy salads. I usually avoid mayo, but if it’s in salad, I don’t mind it so much. Its slightly sour-salty taste (I don’t like the sweet-sour variety) makes a dish really taste interesting. Potato salad and chicken salad are two of my most favorite mayo-based salad; and I usually prepare it for the enjoyment of my family. Don’t get me wrong; my family loves fresh salads too. But this is particularly special to us because my husband and I grew up eating this types of salad.
My own mother, for example, loves potato salad so much. We usually had it at least once a week when I was a kid. My dad loves it too, and so do I; it’s only my brother who’s too picky to eat anything other than meat.
Now that I have my own family, I find myself making it all the time too. Mostly, I make it as side dish; but my husband eats it for snack too. He even puts it in bread along with a slab of meat on it.
This simple crab salad from Mom’s Food Blog reminds me of potato salad. They’re both mayo-based, except that this one really has that seafood flavor because of the crabs. I assure you, that if you love seafood, you’re going to love this!
This salad is simple to prepare. You don’t need to be an expert in the kitchen to be able to make this!

Quick Tip: You can have your imitation crab in chunks if you want your salad chunky.
