There are those nights when I can’t sleep no matter how much I want to. Sometimes, it’s due to stress and that’s not a good thing, is it? My friends keep telling me that I have to find a hobby that will allow me to relax even if I am doing it (kind of ironic, but it makes sense). I used to have my cross-stitching hobby, but I don’t like working with needles while my sons are just near me. But sleep is important, and I have to have enough of it so I can fulfill all of my duties as a wife and as a mom.
One time, I must have slept for only two hours when I woke up again. I couldn’t seem to go back to sleep, so I went to the kitchen to drink some milk. Milk sometimes help me fall asleep.
I couldn’t. I seem to have a lot of energy to spare. So instead of going back to bed and staying awake for hours, I put my energy to good use.
I pulled out my apron and started to make breakfast for my husband. I decided on something new since I had a few hours to spare before he woke up at 6. I was sure he’d be delighted when he woke up.
I made these pumpkin pop tarts for him. I got the recipes for the crust and the pop tars themselves from Mom’s Food Blog. If you have your own crust recipe, then it’s fine; but these two go so well together.
He loved them! And so did my kids. And I have a feeling your family will love these pop tarts too.

Quick Tip: With regards to the dough, make sure to poke 4-5 holes in the top for the steam to get out while they’re cooking.
