I remember the very first time I tried chicken cordon bleu. My grandma had been in the hospital for over 2 weeks already with some complications after a heart surgery. My siblings and I (five of us in total) were taking turns spending the nights at different family and friend’s house and we knew it would be a long ride before we got to the end of the journey. Well, one of my favorite parts about hanging out with all of these friends and family was that there was lots of yummy food to go around.

Everyone we stayed with was from a different culture and had lots of tasty food from that country at their table every night. Well, one of my favorites was a Venezuelan friend who made chicken cordon bleu. Yeah, I know, it is kind of strange that a Venezuelan lady is making chicken cordon bleu, but she made it so amazingly! I had never tried it and it was out of this world GREAT! Ever since then, I shared the recipe with my mom (since I assumed she had not tried a good one), and we have made it ever since. This is on my weekly rotation because it is delicious on the spot and reheats so well!
