Back when you were a kid, what got your attention easily? As I came from a family of good cooks, it’s obvious that my answer is food. I remember that my Mom always distracted me and my brother from doing something not good by offering food. Like for example when we always almost got into fights, my Mom would always call for us just in the nick of time. She would say, “go home now and eat your dessert”; and my brother and I would follow her. We would totally forget about the fight.
A few nights ago, my sister-in-law delivered my little niece and my nephew straight to our doorstep. My husband and I offered to look after them while they took a night off. Those two are so hardworking they deserve at least one night every week.
My husband was always playful. So while my niece was propped on her high chair in the kitchen with me, he was playing with the boys in the living room. It felt good to hear them just having a good time.
I decided to make them this simple dessert that guaranteed to make them smile. It’s a simple brownie pudding recipe that I got from Smells Like Home. It’s a winner recipe that didn’t need explanation.
I served this recipe to them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. They all loved it!
