One of the pieces of advice that I got from my Mom, which I will never forget is related to food. If you find your broth too salty for your liking, all you have to do is place cubes of potatoes in there. The potatoes will absorb the excess salt and there goes your problem. It happened to me a lot while I was just starting to cook because I wasn’t the type to measure my ingredients. And all I can say is: “potatoes have saved a lot of my dishes since the beginning.”
One of my favorite childhood dishes was my Grandma’s potato soup. It’s just so flavorful and so creamy, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. She often served it to us with her homemade rolls and that’s just the perfect combination.
Potato soup is a favorite in the family too. My kids are extra happy whenever it’s the soup on the table. They just couldn’t get enough of potatoes.
My husband loves eating potato soup with homemade rolls. I have an easy homemade roll recipe that I use whenever soup is on the menu. Since this potato soup is cooked in a crockpot, I have time to make an old-fashioned bread recipe.
