These savory braised lamb chops recipe deserves a Raise The Roof moment. We rarely have lamb at home because it’s considered a luxury meat for me. It’s not actually because of the price, but rather my lack of recipes involving lamb. Lamb is not as versatile as chicken. You can’t just cook it like how you cook chicken and expect it to taste the same. For me, it’s a bit tricky to cook lamb, which is why it’s not served often in the house.
A few nights ago, my husband told me that he would bring home a few of his colleagues with him for a meeting outside the office. It’s about a project that they’ve been working on and they might pull an all-nighter. I knew I needed to cook for him and prepare the guest room just in case someone needed to crash.
I had a bit of a phone tutorial with my sister-in-law. She was used to cooking lamb because of her father. So she was talking to me while I was looking for the stock of products in my pantry.
She suggested this braised lamb shanks recipe. She said it would be perfect because it’s easy to make. It could also be fancy and casual at the same time.
I had to thank her the next day because the lamb shanks have been a hit! They’re flavorful and oh so tender because it’s cooked in a slow cooker. It’s probably one of the best recipes I’ve ever cooked!

Quick Tip: Best if made a few days in advance, so that all those sauce flavors intensify in the fridge.
