Mom often said that it was okay to go wacky over desserts as long as we knew how to claim our sanity back. She has a lot of quotes about food that I remember, which I will soon impart on my children. I have a long memory and my children had better be prepared!
Moms’ favorite food to make were desserts. Every dinner, we always had a dessert that would help fill the missing gaps in our stomachs. Most of the time, the dessert was pie. But there were times when it’s cake. And those times were most precious to me.
I loved Mom’s butter cake. She always experimented with it. She sometimes put frosting while sometimes she put chocolate chips or nut. One of my favorites was the nut-crusted one. She used different nuts for it, but the family still loved every variation.
This almond crusted butter cake by Bake At 350 reminds me of my Mom’s butter cake. This has quite a few different ingredients and methods, but it’s still butter cake.
It’s pretty much the same. And they are both delicious! The cakes are moist and soft and just decadent! You can find the full copy of this recipe on the next page. It’s a butter cake recipe that I am sure your family will appreciate so much!
