This glazed lemon brownies recipe came from Life In The Lofthouse. They have a huge collection of recipes that you can try for your rotation of meals. You can find a full copy of the recipe below. I am sure your family will love this unconventionally good recipe as much as my family do. There’s nothing better than moist brownies that melt in the mouth!
Our friend over at Life In The Lofthouse has this to say about the recipe:
“Lemon brownie heaven! The flavor of lemon is just perfect, and they’re soft and moist, just like a brownie should be. And that glaze. Seriously, the best.”
The glaze matches the brownies perfectly. It’s so good! But I made this once with just a simple syrup and it still tastes great. The good thing about these brownies is that the lemon taste is there, but it’s not overwhelming. There is a balance between the sweetness and citrus taste!
Ingredients
1 cup Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 cup Domino granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon Morton salt
1/2 cup Land O Lakes butter, softened
2 large Eggland’s eggs
2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon zest
1 cup Domino powdered sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with non-stick spray. (Or you can line with foil or parchment paper for easy removal).
- In a large bowl, stir flour, sugar and salt together. (I used a whisk to stir it. It sifts the flour at the same time).
- Add softened butter to flour mixture, stir with a spatula until combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon juice and lemon zest. Pour mixture into the flour mixture. Stir with a spatula until smooth and combined. (A few lumps may remain).
- Pour batter into prepared baking pan and spread out evenly. Bake 25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely before glazing.
- Whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth. Pour and spread evenly over cooled brownies. Let glaze set before cutting into 9 bars. Serve and enjoy!

Quick Tip: You can try a simple syrup instead of a glaze, if you like.
