These maple bacon donuts are the reason why I am suddenly remembering my college days. I worked part-time while I was in college so I could help pay the rent of the apartment that my friends and I rented. We didn’t want to stay in dorms and preferred to hunt for an apartment that would host a few of us.
Anyway, I got a part-time job at a dessert place (ice cream house to be exact). It was the only job I could take that wouldn’t compromise my studies. I learned to budget my money and learned to tighten my belt. During that time, I subsisted on instant noodles and donuts. The donut place near the apartment offers really cheap yet delicious donuts and most of the time, they served as my breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
These maple bacon donuts from Wonky Wonderful remind me of those days. And I am glad I was able to survive those times. When I found this recipe over at this site, I immediately tried making them for my family. My husband came home to cooling donuts on the rack. Before I could even stop him, he snatched one and brought it with him upstairs while he was changing into house clothes.
Your family will love these donuts. They really taste so good. The bacon balances the taste of the maple, resulting to a donut that tastes just right. If you want a copy of this recipe, please proceed to the next page! Enjoy!
