A slice of this poppy seed cake roll is the perfect cherry on top of a nice supper. You have to believe me when I say that this cake is truly one of the most delicious cakes I have ever had the honor of eating. This was introduced to me by a friend. We met up downtown at a coffee shop to catch up a bit when I learned that she was in town. When I arrived there, she was already eating a slice of what seemed like a roll cake and coffee. She knew I liked my coffee piping hot so she didn’t order it for me. When I came into the counter, I saw the cake she ordered so I ordered one of those too. It was the first time that I tasted such a cake and I immediately loved it.

It was a poppy seed cake with cream inside. It tastes really good because the cream inside gives the cake its richness that wouldn’t have been there without it. It’s a perfect balance, actually. My friend told me that she makes it at home. Except that hers was quite different because she pours chocolate ganache on top.
