I’m not sure what happens to other reunions, but in my family, other than the food, we look forwards to conversations and games. Yes, games! Wherever we will hold the reunion, one or two of us will bring something that will be enjoyed by the family. Most of the time, it’s board games. That way, half of us can look after the kids while half of us play. During one reunion, my cousin Jane brought a board game called Mad Magazine Game. It’s the opposite of the Millionaire’s Game. The objective of this game was to lose all your money. Everyone got so engaged with the game and we didn’t notice the time.
The only way we were able to lose focus on the game was when my aunts finally announced that supper was ready. We abandoned the game without preamble and brought our kids to the dining room to eat. One of the remarkable dishes that night was my mother’s pasta dish that involved chicken alfredo. This chicken broccoli alfredo stuffed shells recipe by Tastes Better From Scratch reminds me of that recipe from my mom. I made this dish for my family already and they love this as much as they love Mom’s recipe. So I am sure your family will love this version too!
