Do you have your favorite soup? That ultimate favorite soup that will never fail to make you feel better? I have mine. And it’s my mother’s creamy chicken noodle soup. I grew up in a really tightly knit family. This is the reason why we always have reunions because everyone is keen about family bonds. Even though I have my own family now, I never fail to check on my parents. And every time I call them, that kiddie heart that I long since buried under my wife and mommy heart always come out. Parents, most especially mothers, just never fail to bring out that side of ours. I always find myself telling my mom about my frustrations and she is always there, listening and giving me advice. Because compared to my less than ten years of motherhood, hers is far more superior.
A mother’s love truly is a bit different. My dad’s love, I call it a tough love. Dads are the disciplinarians most of the time. I see that in my husband. He’s always sweet to the twins, yes, but when the twins really did something wrong, he makes sure they know what they did wrong and will promise that they will never do it again. A mother’s love on the other hand is the quieter love, the calmer one. And I experience it right now with the way I feel for my children. This creamy chicken noodle soup recipe reminds me of a mother’s lover for her children. Because Mom used to make this for me and my brother when we were just kids and it never failed to make us feel better. I have adapted this recipe from my Mom so I can make it for my family. And it’s one of their favorite soups so far. I think because it’s a soup made out of a mother’s love for her family.
