This rustic Italian sponge cake with creamy cheesecake filling stole everyone’s hearts. I am not kidding! This was served to us at one of my friends’ birthday parties. My husband and I were invited so we both attended the event. I found myself roaming around the dessert table just to occupy myself with something to do. I have friends there, but they’re usually with their husbands most of the night so we weren’t able to converse long. My husband on the other hand always allowed me to do whatever I want. However, he was amused at seeing me hovering around the dessert table. He was more social that I was so he was able to engage people in conversations from time to time while I chose to engage into a conversation with food.
This Italian sponge cake was one of the desserts served during that time. Just one slice and it has immediately became the highlight of my night. I couldn’t even say no to another slice when my husband teasingly offered me another slice! I had to research for a recipe because I wanted to make this at home so my twins can try it. Luckily, I found one over at Dine and Dish! My cake ended up really well even if it didn’t look as good as the one in the party! My husband couldn’t get enough of it even though he wouldn’t admit it!
