Prunes. That one fruit (or is it a berry? I am not sure) that seems to be on the list of totally love or totally hate. There are definitely mixed emotions for that and I am so not sure how I feel about them still. I am on the fence. Sometimes they taste good, other times, well not so much. But regardless, I have decided to give them a try because I never like to rule something out completely. I keep eating something in different forms until I try that one thing that I positively love.
Well, prunes were really hard for me to find. The first time I had prunes was as a little girl in baby food. Then I ate the fruit sometimes but it just did not suit my fancy. However, now as an adult, I continue to search for that perfect recipe to make me love them. Well, as I was contemplating what to do with a can of prunes, I thought to myself, “what if I make these into a cake?!” Well, a cake with all the fixings is all I needed to learn to love this again. It was positively delicious and now I cannot stop making this prune cake.
