My husband is a huge fan of red velvet. Turns out, from him and even some in my family, I have learned to become a red velvet lover, too. Before we had kids, we would spend hours trying out new red velvet recipes, from cakes, to brownies to cookies (I mean, have you ever tried a red velvet cookie? Those are absolutely the best!). My husband and I really loved this and it was something we bonded over. We even made a red velvet milkshake one time. It was really just our thing!
Well, after having kids, we knew we would show them what amazingness there is in red velvet. We made them red velvet cakes, brownies and milkshakes, but to our dismay, they were not thrilled at all. They were actually not very happy with the idea of red velvet anything. They did not seem to like it and we were a bit disappointed to have to learn how to make chocolate cakes for their birthday. However, all that changed when I made this one recipe: Red velvet cake bites. Easy to eat, full of flavor, with great texture and having some wonderfully colorful fun, these little babies are what converted my kiddos into true red velvet lovers!
