Who doesn’t love French toast most especially for breakfast? French toast is a family favorite. My twins, when they smell the aroma coming from the kitchen, will come padding to the kitchen in their pajamas, still both sleepy eyed and with their hair sticking in all directions. They will sit down on the chairs for them and close their eyes until the manage to fall asleep while sitting. So adorable. My husband will usually watch them while I prepare our sinful breakfast of all-out French toast! I call it all-out because I allow them to put anything on it including whipped cream and chocolate or caramel syrup! I even allow them to put chocolate chips on top of the whipped cream sometimes. The happiest would be my husband though. He’s a sucker for rich food like this.
This caramel French toast casserole is a new discovery. The first time I have gotten my hands on the recipe, I immediately made it the next morning for breakfast. I think it was right time because it was Monday the next day. Every Monday, my husband will be starting another busy week so I wanted him to start his week right with something as good as this dish. I worry about his workaholic lifestyle, but he always says I didn’t have to worry because he is Superman and he has a lot of energy he needs to provide for his family. I asked him, “if you’re superman, then who am I?” He simply grinned and said, “you’re Superman’s wife without whom Superman will be nothing.” Oh that earned him another serving of this amazing French toast casserole.

Quick Tip: The key is to start with a nice thick loaf of French bread. Use a lot of bread so your casserole will not turn out soggy.
