One bite of this scrumptious, sinful earthquake cake and you will instantly feel the intensity caused by the whirlwind of amazing flavors on it! Ask the people at the last potluck I have attended and they will tell you that this statement is true. Potlucks make me excited and make me panic at the same time. Excited because the one who usually invites me is one of my friends that I rarely see. The potluck becomes our form of reunion and at the same time play date for our kids. The adults just watch the kids while we enjoy the food that are being shared by all of us. During the last potluck that I attended, I was a bit distraught. I was busy that week and I almost forgot that I was invited to one. To make up for me almost forgetting about it (even though I didn’t have the intention of telling), I looked for a recipe that will totally blow everyone’s minds away.
That recipe happened to be this earthquake cake. I must have eaten a lot of this recipe before, but I didn’t probably know it was called earthquake cake. I don’t usually ask the host who serves the food unless he or she is my close friend. Anyway, so I made this earthquake cake to bring to the potluck. I just made one pan because there were very few of us that were going to attend. Imagine my surprise when it’s my earthquake cake that was gone first! Yes! It felt like the earth just shook and swallowed it whole because there was not a trace left when I came back to check on it after talking to some of my friends!
