Ali’s is accident prone. She’s clumsier than most people I know. I feel like she’s tripping on her own feet. Ali has had some close calls before just because she seemed to fail at any balancing act. She was almost hit by a car, she almost fell off a cliff, and she almost lost a lose just because she seemed to trip everywhere. She has improved a whole lot since high school, but she still has her moments sometimes. One of those moments just happened recently while we were staying in her apartment for a movie marathon.
She knew how to cook. Most of us did because we grew up in a town were everyone’s mothers were great cooks. Barbecue chicken was on the menu that night plus mashed potatoes. Since her mom has the best mashed potatoes, we were quite excited. We left her alone since it was her kitchen and just decided to make ourselves busy while waiting for her. Her screams brought us all to the kitchen. It seemed she accidentally bumped her glass full of rootbeer on the slow cooker while she was pouring the sauce. We couldn’t do anything since it’s already done and just waited for the result. There’s always the mashed potatoes anyway. It turned out we didn’t have to be disappointed. The root beer fit in nicely with the barbecue sauce and had gone so well with the meat! Saved by the root beer, Ali!

Quick Tip: You can also freeze the leftovers for another day. Just store the cooked meat (with the sauce) in an airtight container. Thaw it in the refrigerator the night before you want to serve it and dinner will be ready and waiting. Just reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave.
