Sue was one of those who believed that the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach. That’s how she was able to marry the most eligible bachelor back when we were in college. Jeremy was the school heartthrob. Everyone had a crush on him because not only was he smart, he was also very kind and was a true epitome of the perfect gentleman. Even I had a crush on him and I wasn’t the type to have a crush on everyone else’s crush. In a group of five boys, my attention was always caught by the silent one of the group.
But enough of my type of guy. Let’s talk about Sue’s. Sue studied baking after school. She always wanted to have her own coffee shop one day so she wanted to learn how to bake. It so happened that Jeremy was taking the same classes. They were often paired in class so they started became closer. One time, Sue baked a cake for him which was a version of her mom’s sweet potato cake. Jeremy fell in love with sweet potato cake and the one who made it. A couple of weeks later, we just witnessed them walk in the campus hand-in-hand. Oh the sound of breaking hearts that day were evident. But Sue’s heart remained intact. And up to know, it’s still very much intact!
