Our friend over at Mr. Food has this to say about this recipe:
“Take a trip down to the “Bayou” with the long-cooked tastes of our slow-cooker Red Beans and Rice. This one’s packed with lots of authentic New Orleans flavor without having to leave home.”
We used to visit Louisiana because one of my aunts lived there. She used to cook red beans all the time because she wanted us to have a taste of her home. Home-cooked meals that remind you of places you used to visit as a kid is a sure winner in my book. It’s not just the taste of the food in those places; it’s also the memories that always come with it.

Quick Tip: For authentic New Orleans flavor, be sure to use andouille sausage for its spicy, smoky flavor.
