In every get-together, it’s inevitable for family members to reminisce about the past. My aunts, my uncles, and my parents in particular love to reminisce about how we were as kids. It’s kind of fortunate that I don’t have kids yet because they love talking about the embarrassing stuff that I used to do as kids. And if I already have kids of my own, I didn’t want them to hear about those of course! My married cousins and my brother were always the victims of that type of embarrassment. I, for one, always hears my niece ask my brother questions right after a particularly embarrassing reminiscing.
This walk down memory lane is usually caused by food. One of them would bake something and then it will trigger a memory. Last time, it was about Rob, one of my cousins. Aunt Marge baked chocolate macaroons with coconut on them. When one of my aunts saw that, she immediately launched a story about Rob and coconut. It was a good thing Rob wasn’t there or he would have sulked big time. Yes, he still sulks! I didn’t dare say a word because I didn’t want the attention to be turned towards me. But I did eat a lot of those macaroons that day.

Quick Tip: You can give these macaroons as gifts! Just put them in pretty boxes or tin cans.
