As a kid, I don’t really remember my mother making pork chop[s all that much for dinner.
We were more beef roast and casserole people, to be honest. It wasn’t until I got married that I understood the power of the almighty pork chop. My mother in law can make a mean pork chop dinner and she does so with minimal ingredients. The first time I had a pork chop dinner that I actually liked was at my husband’s parent’s house. I think my MIL said she only used 2 ingredients in the recipe and one of them was the chops themselves. So what was the other?
Creole Seasoning. Do you guys know how obsessed people in western Pennsylvania are with this stuff? They use it on everything. There are even potato chips seasoned with Creole spices that I certainly didn’t see being sold in Michigan when I lived there. Shoot, I even saw cheese puffs seasoned with the orange, spicy goodness.
