I know this recipe probably looks super unhealthy but it actually is not. For one, you are using lean ground beef and for two, bacon is good for you when eaten in moderation. Score! My mama gave me a tip of advice about this meatloaf and it was to always serve it with mashed potatoes and a smile. oh, and mama also said to make sure to remove the meatloaf from the pan prior to serving,
Removing the meatloaf from the pan right away does work wonders in terms of not soaking up all of that grease. I don’t like my food swimming in grease so this method works out great for me.
Ingredients
3 pounds 85% lean 15% fat ground beef.
1 pound of country style sausage.
2 Eggland’s Best eggs.
¾ cup of diced onion.
⅓ cup of Heinz ketchup.
1 ½ tsp of Morton’s Nature’s seasoning.
½ tsp of McCormick garlic powder.
1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce.
½ tsp of pepper.
½ tsp of salt.
½ cup of 4C breadcrumbs.
1 cup of Kraft diced cheddar cheese.
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together except for the bacon.
Place the mixture in 2 loaf pans lined with bacon.
In a preheated oven to 350° bake for 90 minutes.
Remove from the pan immediately after baking, slice and serve.
