One time, when I was a little girl, I remember my mom having a get-together with some of her lady friends. They were all sitting around the kitchen table snacking on cheese and this wonderful smelling bread. The ladies kept commenting on how good that “beer bread” is! The other kids and I thought we would sneak some of this infamous beer bread and get “drunk” off of it. I mean, we couldn’t just ask our moms for a piece because it contained beer and kids couldn’t have beer, right? LOL
So, when the moms moved to the living room the other kids and I crept up to the table and devoured what was left of that drunken loaf. We thought we were so cool! Little did we know that there is no alcohol in beer bread as it is all burnt off during the baking phase. Our mothers would have just given us the bread if we would have asked. And no, we weren’t drunk LOL So anyway, have fun with this very easy-to-make beer bread recipe. The flavor is mild and tempting. Enjoy!
