My sister is the master monkey bread maker. She has it down to the wire where she does not even need a recipe anymore to make them. She has perfectly mastered the cutting of biscuit dough, wrapping of cream cheese mixture in it, tossing in cinnamon sugar and throwing in a buttered pan with a nice little sauce over the top. It seems simple, but it can be a tedious task. However, she has got it down-packed.
It took me a while to learn to make these, because the process was so tedious. But after spending time with her, I learned how to make them a bit faster. Nowadays, I still make it, but not without a quick call to her first. However, prepping it is fine now, but baking it is sometimes a hassle. It sticks easily because of the sugar melting and it can quickly become a catastrophe of a dish. But not anymore. I now make it in the crock pot. Yep, you read that right. If you make this in a crock pot, it takes a perfect shape, and you can pick out the bites you want right from the ceramic dish. It is a fun and super easy way to make this.
