The other day, Sally, my wonderful neighbor, and I were talking about our Christmas dinner spread. I told her that I enjoy serving appetizers because that keeps wandering hands out of the dang kitchen. People in my family love to sneak tastes of the food while it is still cooking and that drives me nuts! I mean, half of the dang time the stuff is still raw, why would anyone eat raw food, especially turkey? Sheesh! As my granny used to say, “Don’t do that! You’ll get worms!” Yuck. So, yeah, I like to keep a variety of finger foods out for my guests to pick at while they are waiting for the big shebang.
My appetizers are a bit predictable as I always seem to serve the same ones. We’ve got a veggie tray, cheese and crackers, cheeseball, and an assortment of other appetizer-ish foods. However, this year, I’m going to serve something a bit different. How do cabbage fritters sound? Believe it or not these yummy little apps taste great and are super easy to make. I’ll be doing a test run with these fritters this evening on my family. feedback to follow!
