Sail Your Ship Into The Crescent Roll Chicken Square Dock

I love making dishes from the past, don’t you? There’s just something so satisfying knowing that you just whipped up a recipe from over 40 years ago. These croissant chicken squares were adapted in 1973 and actually took the grand prize in a major cooking contest.

Isn’t that cool? I mean, 25k is a lot of money but in 1973 it was an enormous amount of money so this recipe must be something super special. I quickly learned, after I made these yummy squares, that there was.

I encourage you to whip up these vintage squares and test them out for yourself. You won’t be sorry! I showed this yummy recipe to my mother and asked her if she had ever made these.

She told me that she had not but her mother, my grandma, had. She said she remembered as a young girl when that contest took place with Pillsbury and how everyone went crazy over these yummy squares. What fun that must of been!

I wish I new the name of the person who made them and won all of that money. I bet they still make these award-winning squares to this day. I know that I sure would 🙂

Quick Tip: I enjoy using Ranch flavored croutons when making this delicious recipe.

So you use 4 rectangles with edges pressed together to make these? That means you only make 2. Do you share with someone else if there are 4 of you eating. This is so confusing to me.
