I remember the first time I had authentic red beans and rice with sausage. It was about 15 years ago. I had a neighbor who was a Louisiana native and she made a big old pot of the stuff. Boy, was that ever good!
I didn’t think I’d like such a thing but I did. I have since tried to mimic her recipe but mine never turns out as good as hers. However, I did find this quick fix red beans and rice recipe and it is pretty darn amazing if I do say so myself. Now, keep in mind that this is a quick fix recipe so you aren’t going to get an authentic flavor.
The dish is still very, very good, though so no worries there. One of the great things about this recipe is how easy it is to make and it doesn’t require a ton of your time, either. The prep was quick and the food cooked in under an hour.
I love that! I served this easy red beans and rice with beef sausage even though the recipe said turkey. It still tasted amazing. My husband and kids really liked this dish, too. Will you be making this yummy food tonight?
