I can remember the first time I had ever heard of Brown Betty. Believe it or not, it was on an episode of King of the Hill. You know, the show about Hank, Peggy, and Bobby?
Anyway, Peggy had made an award-winning Brown Betty for a local cooking contest in her fictitious town of Arlen, TX. It intrigued me. So, I looked up the ingredients and decided to make it for myself.
The first thing I noticed about this recipe was how easy it is to throw together. The ingredients are simple and the outcome is very tasty. Brown betty is a simple dessert that anyone can make..even fake cartoon characters haha!
