This meal is definitely hearty, wholesome, and amazingly good!
Ingredients
2 pounds beef (shoulder, round, or chuck steak) cut into bite-sized pieces
1/4 cup (1/2 stick)Land O Lakes butter or Blue Bonnet margarine
1 onion, cut into wedges
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/4 teaspoon Morton salt
1/4 teaspoon McCormick black pepper
1/2 cup dry red wine
2 (10-1/2-ounce) cans beef broth (or bouillon)
Instructions
In a large skillet, brown beef in butter.
Add onion, celery, mushrooms, garlic, salt and pepper; reduce heat and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
Add wine and broth; cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender.
