My husband is an avid hunter and each year that he bags his big buck we eat well for the winter. From stews to burgers, venison always fills our bellies. I really like this stew recipe because it is hot, savory, and perfect for a cold day meal.
I serve it with freshly baked bread or sandwiches. My kids enjoy eating it with buttermilk biscuits. This recipe makes a big old batch but if you are expecting company I would definitely double the ingredients.
You want to make sure that you have enough to go around. Trust me, this stew goes fast! I’ver made other venison stews in the past but this recipe has to be my favorite.
It is so much heartier than the others. I love it and I know you will, too 🙂

Quick Tip: If you don’t like deer meat or only have beef on hand that’s okay, just use what you got or use a combination of both.
