My mother was always making some sort of roast for Sunday dinner when I was a young girl. I remember getting out of the car after church and being able to smell her meal from outside before we even opened the door! She would leave the beef roast to cook on low all morning in the oven.
It was always a heavenly feast to come home to after being in church all morning. This beef brisket recipe reminds me a lot of my mom’s old-fashioned roast. It’s tender, juicy, and super savory.
Sometimes, my family and I will eat it traditionally with a side of mashed potatoes, gravy, cooked carrots, and rolls. Other times, we will nosh on this beef in a shredded style on hoagie rolls. Either way is absolutely delicious.
