Check out what my friends at All Recipes had to say about this pulled pork:
Very moist pulled pork, perfect for a crowd because it is not too spicy (though it does have a bit of a kick) and the flavors are not too strong. It is a good pulled pork to serve with your favorite BBQ sauce. I like Sweet Baby Ray’s or Maull’s. Would make again!
Don’t forget to serve your pork with your favorite bbq sauce on the side. I actually asked another favorite joint what their sauce recipe was. They refused to tell me so I got a side order, took it home and began adding seasonings by taste. I ended up recreating the sauce with ease.
Ingredients
1 (5 pound) boneless pork butt (shoulder)
1 1/2 teaspoons McCormick smoked paprika
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon McCormick cayenne
1 teaspoon McCormick garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Morton salt
1 cup water
Soft sandwich buns
1 teaspoon McCormick dried thyme
Directions
- Combine all the seasonings in a small bowl and rub evenly over roast. Place meat in a 6-quart slow cooker. Add water. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours or until pork is very tender.
- Remove pork to a large cutting board or platter and let rest for 10-15 minutes. Pull, slice or chop to serve. Serve in buns with barbecue sauce.

Quick Tip: Baked beans, coleslaw and applesauce all go well with pulled pork!
