Okay, so, don’t let the name of this soup freak you out. Just because it’s called 16-bean soup doesn’t mean you’ll be messing around with all of these beans and have a gazillion different pots simmering on the stove. Actually, this recipe is quite easy to master. You can buy a sack of 16-bean soup mix. This means that all of the beans you need are in one tidy package. Score! I just throw away the flavor packet that comes with these beans and make my own seasoning, because, you know, it’s better that way and such.
My family really enjoyed eating this soup with grilled cheese sandwiches and lots of smiles. I didn’t even notice my husband adding in extra salt and pepper. So that means this 16-bean soup is flavored to perfection!
