You Don’t Need To Travel To Michigan To Enjoy This Fudgy Treat!

Did you know that the correct pronunciation of Mackinac is not “mack-i-nack” but rather “mack-i-naw”? That’s okay if you didn’t know, many non-Michiganders don’t. Anyway, if you make your way across the Might Mac Bridge, stop into one of the various fudge shops for a treat!

Check out what my pals over at Group Recipes had to say about this recipe:

” From my “Great State of Michigan” is a recipe for our famous fudge. Mackinac Island is a beautiful place to visit. With its beautiful homes, lake bluff views and NO cars, it is a popular destinaton for summer visitors.

The popular film, “Somewhere in Time” starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour was filmed there. “Fudgies” travel from all over to enjoy this local treat! This is so easy to make in minutes.”

This back so many memories for me! Michigan is my home state and I miss it dearly! I remember in 7th grade, my school took us kids up to Mackinac Island for 5 days. Brave faculty! LOL! It was so much fun!

Cut into pieces.

Makes approximately 1 pound of fudge.

Peanut Butter Mackinac Island Fudge

Reduce butter to 1/4 cup and add 1/2 cup peanut butter

Great Hint: If you want to make “authentic” Michigan fudge, when the

fudge has cooled somewhat,( find that marble cheese server your sister in law gave you years back and never used) and spoon the mixture on it and make a log! Then chill of course.
