This recipe is near and dear to my heart because I am a native Michigander. I was raised there my entire life and have since moved to Pennsylvania. The transition was a bit rocky, but it’s recipes like these that totally make my day!
This fudge recipe isn’t just any fudge recipe; it’s Mackinac Island fudge. If you are unsure of where that is, it’s in Michigan’s upper peninsula. You have to drive across the Mackinac Bridge to get there or through Canada.
Mackinac Island is known around the world for its fudge. People travel near and far to get a sample of it. I miss it dearly!
Of course, when I lived in Michigan I would just make the 45-minute drive to Frankenmuth to get my fudge fix instead of 6 hours to the UP. I’m so glad I found this awesome fudge recipe so I can make this treat in my Pennsylvanian kitchen.

Quick Tip: You can leave this fudge in a square pan and cut into chunks if you’d like but it’s much better to form it into a log and cut it into slices. Think of a load of bread.
I was a little suprised that you didn’t say to use PIONEER Sugar. Cost Co sells it now.
This recipe looks great , I’m guna try it but did you also know that you can order Mackinac fudge on their website an they will mail it to you? I don’t have the link but it should be easy to look up. Thanks for the recipe.
