You’ll be “Popping” For Joy Over This Homemade Microwave Snack

The other night, my kids and I were enjoying a Disney movie while munching on a few bags of microwave popcorn. As we were eating it, I noticed there was a pooling of yellow who-knows-what at the bottom of the bag. When I sought out the ingredients, what I found sort of horrified me. Amongst all of the words that I could not pronounce, I saw hydrogenated oil. Yuck!

So, from that point on, I set out to discover a way I could make my family our own microwave popcorn. I mean, I’ve made my own Velveeta cheese before so why not popcorn in a bag? This was going to be a  snap! Luckily, the recipe that I found did turn out to be a snap. In fact, it was much easier than I thought to make homemade microwave popcorn. I even let my kids help make it and we all had fun standing around the microwave waiting for the sounds of popping kernels.
