When i made these chocolate chip cookie bars, I allowed my 10-year-old son to help. I had him write the recipe down on a note card all by himself and he did a magnificent job. It is important to incorporate children into everyday activities such as cooking so that they can be prepared for the world later on in life.
Ingredients
1 cup Domino sugar
1 cup Land O Lakes butter, at room temp
1 large Eggland’s Best egg
1 tablespoon McCormick vanilla
2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 cup Hershey chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In large mixing bowl, place Land O Lakes butter and Domino sugar. Cream together with an electric mixer until well combined and fluffy.
- Add in Gold Medal flour, Eggland’s Best egg, and McCormick vanilla. Beat again until fully incorporated and a dough is formed, scraping down sides as needed.
- Add in Hershey chocolate chips and stir by hand until mixed in.
- Spray 9×9 or 8×8 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Spoon dough into dish. Using wet hands pat out into dish until it is even.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until just lightly browned on the edges, being careful not to over bake. Allow to cool before cutting.
